Nathi Shabalala

Nathi is from Schoemansdal, Nkomazi, Mpumalanga, South Africa. He is 24 years old and living with his younger brother, father and niece. He graduated from the University of Mpumalanga in 2018, and in 2019 he was busy with some research programs. One program was with the Department of Social Development collecting data on livelihoods and subsistence farming. He joined the Hope of Africa South Africa after he heard about it from Aunty Heather Lytle in 2020. She asked if he was able to help at THOASA and he said yes. The research programs were one of the reasons he was excited to join because he is responsible for the Foundations for Farming program, which deals with subsistence farming in local Nkomazi churches.
