Martha’s Story
Martha is an energetic, hardworking graduate of Suubi Africa Youth. During the program Suubi supported and encouraged Martha to express herself. She is now confident and gives back to the community through teaching children. She is also passionate about serving and worshipping God through her local church.
Martha was invited to Nakasongola in 2017 to tell children about Jesus. After being trained in the AWANA program through Suubi, Martha was eager to go. Starting the first day, they expected about 100 children, but ended the day with about 280!
Seeing the need of the children and not being able to provide for all of them, she decided to teach them about being generous. She asked each of them to bring a sweet potato and a piece of firewood when they came back the next day. For the next two days, the children faithfully brought their sweet potatoes and firewood and together were able to feed the growing number of children who continued to come.
