Meet Collins

Before joining Hope of Africa (HOA), Collins’ life was uncertain with no direction, leading to unemployment and lack of skills. Peer pressure influenced poor decisions, risking homelessness and involvement in criminal activities like theft.

His faith journey started in a Protestant environment where he was actively involved in the church community. Upon coming to HOA, Collins found spiritual guidance, a deeper understanding of scriptures, and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, leading to a transformative and saved life.

Collins joined HOA to learn practical skills like computing but was surprised by the unexpected spiritual growth and guidance HOA offered. The program provided a blend of technical knowledge and spiritual development, enriching my life in unexpected ways.

When joining HOA, two mentors, Herbert and Alex, played key roles in shaping Collins life. Herbert shared farming knowledge, enhancing land productivity and income, while Alex taught leadership skills, boosting his confidence and public speaking abilities. Their guidance influenced Collins’ personal growth and emotional journey significantly.

HOA has been influential in shaping Collins spiritual life and personal growth. He now works as an Assistant Groundskeeper at LAND, volunteers in various HOA programs, and leads the youth Cell group in Gimbo. His aim is to become a more influential community leader, inspire youth, and pursue entrepreneurial goals by starting a business.
